Tyres and brakes

Featured Replies

Hello all,

I will be replacing my Dunlop tyres shortly on the old (2004) 1.9 Elegance estate. I have not been very happy with the grip, and would appreciate any recommendations for alternative non-oem tyres Obviously, all weather grip is the priority, followed by longevity.

And whilst discussing these round things, any suggestions for replacement brake pads? The existing set seem to last forever, but fade dreadfully when driving on salt soaked roads.

Continentals seem to have a good name for being an all weather tyre HTH :)

Goodyear Eagle F1's

I would suggest GoodYear: HydraGrip for Summer & UltraGrip 7 for Winter !

depends on what you want to spend? when I was last in for a tyre they reccomended that when I next come to do a full change that I should go with michalin sport pilots as the best for grip and ware.

oh by the way on the dunlops I thought that they were poor till I put some new pair on the front

Similar experience with Dunlops. Much happier with Toyo Proxes (T1-R cos the Elegance trim uses W-rate tyres [for a car that would rev out before reaching 150 even if it had the power]).
