vRS multichanger has gone for a sh!t...

Featured Replies

When I press the CD button to play or select a cd it displays 'mechanic'

Anyone ever come across this before???

If so, any ideas, as I don't want to be greased up and slipped a length from the local Skoda dealers to get it sorted....

Cheers,

It always happens to me "mechanic" and "surface"

it only happens with copied cds, a good blow in the changer and a clean of the discs and it sorts it out. it settles down after a while.

This happens to a lot of people on here, me included. Happened to me with a legit CD in the other day. I find that by just removing the CD magazine and putting it back seems to work OK

Just check its not wet around the bottom of the changer.

And as mentioned above does it hapen with gen cds?

I have one copied cd in at the moment. Everything is bone dry too..

Have tried to eject the magazine and it is doing nothing.....sh!t!!!!

Well, I have had the car just over 4 years from new and have never used a cleaning disc in it so I musn't grumble!

Cheers guys:)

Hi Stevie Wonder, I recently removed my changer as I've fitted an aftermarket headunit - if you need to replace yours PM me with an offer.

Glad to hear it's sorted, I find that violence is the only language these devices understand!
