When starting my Octavia, I get six bongs...

Any idea what they mean?

When I mean starting, I mean I put the key in and it's in the position before starting the engine...

Any ideas? I thought perhaps an outside temperature warning?

Telling you to put your seat belt on. Put it on before starting the engine and voila no bongs.

On mine the bongs don't start until you actually start driving for about 10 seconds (or above a certain speed? not sure which). Light on dash starts flashing at the same time as the bongs, before then it's just a steady light.

Same on mine, start the car and reverse off the drive in silence...bongs start as I go above a certain speed.

If you ever hear Seven bongs then you should REALLY get worried .....

Every morning I get 6 bongs and a ping........ bloody washer bottle warning, 4 weeks its done it for and it still hasn't run out yet!
