Millers Diesel Sport Plus 4 / Wynns Power Boost

Featured Replies

I have been seeing all these posts about these fuel addatives and was curious to know if you thought they would be useful on my vRS, which has now nearly done 4000 miles and is 4 months old.

I was thinking that the diesel injector cleaners (Redex etc) would be worth buying in a year or two but at the moment there wouldnt be much point.

Then i see these power boost addatives which should just give me better burn in the engine and more power and less smoke.

Will I notice much difference on my car or should i wait a year or so to let the engine really run in?.

Is the Millers stuff so much better than the Wynns one? Is the Wynns one certified for use in the new PD engines?

Must say though that I am still enjoying my car as much as i did when i first test drove one before xmas. I am now a diesel convert, this being my first.

According to Skoda you should not use any form of additives in your engine - end of, full stop.

Personally I feel the only reason they say this is because they don't produce their own yet.

I use millers, not tried the spot 4 stuff yet - but my next bottle should be. I do notice a slight improvement in performance with additive, and mpg is also better. Worth not mentioning to your Skoda dealer that you are using additives because they might try and invalidate warranty claims. I do notice less smoke as well, but I also find that BP Ultimate has that affect.

Hope this helps :)

Tried all manner of injector cleaners and the only one I'd recommend as making a noticeable difference is the Millers Power Sport 4. Power Plus I suspect does make a difference, but it wasn't as convincing as the Power Sport 4 :D

Thanks for that, think i might as well get some and give it a try. Off to Cornwall next month so it will be good to see how it goes on the nice quiet motorway.

Unless you have good reason to use additives, stay clear of them. The engine was designed to run without the need for them. JM2PW.

The engine was also designed to run without the need for a remap, panel filter, performance exhaust system etc....... but people still do it

Would this mean that BP Ultimate and Shell Diesel Extra are not recommended?

What would happen if you mixed one of the above fuels with an additive then

Well, my buzzer went off on my way down the M5 from Bristol so in the morning my car will be getting 40 litres of diesel and probably about 60ml of Sport 4. I shall wait to see what happens.
