Any of you folks got a Mk1 VRS estate?

Featured Replies

I looked at a SAAB but decided on the vRS and I'm really glad I did. I would never dream of putting a bike in the car though. Get a roof rack and cycle rack.. I did and now I dont have to worry if the bike gets plastered in mud whilst out.

Be cheaper to mod the Areo though.... all you need is the Maptun remap and your up to around the 280bhp mark....

Think of the cost of bigger Tubo's etc... required for the VRS to get it up to that sort of level....

Still think the VRS would be the better option though

Yes, John, that's what I am thinking.

Also, because my Elise is now so bonkers fast, I do question whether I need to bother with serious performance with my daily driver.

I have the vRS Estate as a load lugger/dog mobile and the A4 as the weekend/occasional commute car.... and I can honestly say as a daily driver the vRS is better.

The A4 is a great car, but in Sline guise the supension is a little harsh on the country roads I drive down. Mind you, could be that I tend to go a fair bit quicker in the A4 than I do the vRS.
