Small, quick estates.

Featured Replies

I'm thinking of Octavia estate or smaller, and capable of scaring hot hatches.

Volvo V50 T5

Merc C-Class AMG

Audi RS4 Avant

Impreza Sport Wagon

Erm...

Polo ;)

Also currently on sale, and stock!

Impreza Sport Wagon

You'll have to get the WRX wagon otherwise the hot hatches will be disappearing into the distance ;)

Rs4 maybe pricy to run, S4 is also quick enough

RS4 isn't small lol

It's roughly Octy estate sized, isn't it? I mean as opposed to an A6 or V70 or E-Class sort of size. It's about seven centimetres longer and a little bit lower. Whereas the Vectra VXR estate is nearer a foot longer.

I think the AMG is probably the nicest. Hmm.

yeah the A4 is slightly bigger than octy but little in it i would say S4 is 5.5ish sec to 60 so would beat most hot hatch ok RS4 more convincingly

AYe - I looked up the S4 and it would indeed "do the job".

Is that pretty much the list then, d'you think?

Rs2?

Compared to tha Octavia, tha A4 is like a tardis in reverse - Bigger on the outside, smaller on the inside

Alfa 159 Sportwagon?

Not exactly the biggest estate out there (unless a lot has chnaged from when I had my 156 Sportwagon) but one of the best looking at least.

how old? Octavia vRS/4*4 estate? ST170 estate?

would have thought the mundaneo estate was a bit big ?

Wouldn't describe any on the list as small, what about a Mitsubishi Galant VR-4, Subarau Legacy?

Current production only... and the Legacy is quite a bit bigger than the Octavia - 6" longer. The V50 is the only one that's smaller than the Octavia, I think, and it's hardly terrifyingly quick. The Alfa is barely faster than the VRS. There's the 330 or 335, but I'm no BMW fan.

There's the 9-3 V6, but again that's a chunk bigger than an Octavia.

What'd be ideal would be a Fabia VRS estate, but with that silly 3.2 TSI out of the TT. Can't see that happening really!

3.2 TSI ? what engine is that ? do you mean the FSI ?

Doh - my mistake. I meant the 5-cylinder TSI they were reportedly going to put in the TT RS. Unless I made the whole thing up in my head. I thought that VAG were working on transfering the technology from the 1.4TSI 170 to the 3.2 V6. Maybe my brain is borked.

or in fact sporked have you seen anyone suspiciously poking around your ear with a spork :P
