Faulty Favorit electrics

Featured Replies

Hi,this is my first thread on this site so i hope it makes some sense!

The Skoda in question is a 1995 Favorit GLXie 1.3 and the electrics are playing up.

The fun begins when you switch on the lights at dusk and they begin to flicker at idle.

I have tested the battery and the alternator for drops in current and they seem healthy enough.

My next thought is to try an auto electrician though it could be pricey.

I suspect if the Police saw it, i could expect points or a fine at the least.

Anyone got any good ideas out there?

How do you go about fixing it please?

Just throw another alternator on. Its a 5 min job and £10 from the scrappies.Hope that helps

Thanks for the tip!

I have picked up another Favorit for fifty quid of the same model and have swapped the alternator over; problem solved!

Now my reversing lights have stopped working and will check out the fuse box like the other guy is doing!
