Well i was all ready to get my new vRS today, but my private plate retention stuff has not come through yet.. So will be thursday at the earliest, as my salesman is off tomorrow :thumbdwn:

Any idea how long I should have to wait for the retention stuff to come through, Set wheels in motion on Thursday...

Depends on what you are doing, if you are registering a new car with a cherished number it shouldn't be long, if you are transferring an existing reg to a cherished reg then it could take weeks.

Have a look at the DVLA site for more details

They are taking my private reg from my golf... putting on retention and putting hopefully the original reg on the car...

I am then getting a normal reg on the fabia for now.....

No mention of time scales on the DVLA site

Give them a ring then, mine is taking forever :( The DVLA should be able to give you an idea on timescales, last time I contacted them they were v.helpful
