Quick question why?

No killer games for release, non on the horizon that arent coming out on the xbox 360. It's incredibly expensive and at the moment there really is no justification for paying £425 for a george foreman grill look-a-like

Well it has everything I need (and lots of other people want from a next gen console). I like how Sony has stuck it's neck out to use new technology in thier system. Blu ray and the Cell broadband processor. All very unique features which will be future proof for years to come. the £425 is amazingly cheap for what it is, obviously only cheap if you want to use every single feature,which if everyone understood the features and had the capability to use them everyone would have one for that price. I love the fact you can use the web on it from day one, briskoda will be on my TV!

I will use all the features it has from go and will not have to purchase anything else (except hdmi lead) to do what it is meant to do.

Yes I see where your coming from with the games but the ps2 games I have will do me for when I get it plus ones I will buy that are out for the PS3. Plenty lined up for the new future and the launch games are the best lineup seen on a console launch (although it should be seen as it is delayed.)

To be honest if you had the choice to get a remap or a ps3, your always going to get a ps3 anyway in the future if you want one now...

give the ps3 a year and the games will be awesome. they are already on par with the 360 already after 3 months.

I do agree it should be cheaper as most people will not use all the featuires. if they did bring the 20gb version in at £300 then a lto more people will buy it.

don't forget the blue ray player is used for games too allowing for larger maps and additional content.

the web browser on the WII is free until June 2007 then you have to pay. also the output will make it pointless to browse the net on a tv/lcd as there is not enough resolution to see a proper web page. The network play is also free and no monthly subscription unlik other conmsoles.

it's like people who know about skoda and the cars will know they do actually sell decent cars, the people who know what the ps3 gives you and understand it all then it is a a great buy.

as for ps2 games on a ps3, in a recent update all the issues were fixed regarding the poor quality of the games, it's upto sony to spread the word but it's difficult as so many people give them bad press becuase the supply is more than the demand at the moment. this is a good thing.

shame some people won't be able to afford it and be forced to buy a wii....can imagine the price will be forced down soon.

to be honest i'd like to have all of the consoles due to the excellent qualities they all have, the ps3 for me is the better package.

get a remap then save a bit more then but a ps3.....although bear in mind your insurance will go up too!

Been playing games and interested in the computer/console games seen for the past 21 years and trust me when I say that the people in the know are the one's who just dont see the point of the ps3. It's a marketing exercise from sony that seems to be reeling in the people who are easily influenced by the brand name. So comparing them to skoda is basically comparing complete opposites. Those in the know will be sitting there with a 360 and a wii, scratching their heads as to what sony are actually bringing to the table this time.

Sony bring nothing new to the table this time. All they have are ideas they have "stolen" from the other two and spend their time churning out more of the same. This industry used to be full of innovation and creativity. sony in part have been responsible for some of this magic being lost. Atleast nintendo have the balls to try something different and it seems to be paying off which can only be a good thing for the games player.

Browsing the internet on a console is and will always be a novelty that will soon wear off.

sony are getting lots of bad press at rthe moment because they are making stupid mistakes that you would expect a new company to make. Not a company that has been around as long as they have. They have made some truly awfull decisions and they have shown nothing but contempt for the consumer (the people they want to buy their products.) and it's this that makes people report on every single slip up they make.

the ps3 is a console that plays one of the next generation dvd standards, it plays awsome games (only 3 months in and matches the 360 - a port of a game will never be as good as the original unless it modified greatly). The playsatiion 3 does exactly what the 360 does and more as standard , to make the 360 worth while you have to buy add on hardware which costs too much and then makes it an expensie product,online is free on the ps3...yes the console costs more but you get a whole lot more as standard.

I can see the errors they make but it does not take anything away from thier product in my eyes. It's a suberb product and only because there is direct competition between only 2 other products then people say it's a bad product.

I'm so sure that after 6 months or so the ps3 will be playing games that no other console can reproduce.

To be honest were sounding like total fan boys in here (i'll put my hand up I like the products sony makes, they are generally better than the competition). This forum is for cars not consoles so maybe we should take this elsewhere.

The hardware doesn't make the games though... and games are more than just pretty pictures! Until the killer app (which I don't think is HD/BluRay) is available for the console, it's pointless comparing them.

Who cares if a BluRay disc can store EVEN MORE useless FMV footage than a regular DVD...

quite an edit you did there on your post, but I disagree about my reasons not being worth while. There's still absolutely nothing worthwhile about the ps3 at the moment and until there is your moneys better spent elsewhere. I fully expect that at some point I will buy one. A great game will come out that wont be available on anything else and I will have to, but I assure you the price will have dropped before this becomes an issue. I am certainly not a fan boy. I am a fan of gaming in general and I can see damage being done to the industry I love with companies like ea rehashing the same game every six months or selling add on packs with 6 items in. Sony contribute to this by releaseing the same things over and over again. You wouldnt have original titles like viva pinata for instance if sony had their way. We would all be playing generic shooter 6 (this time you can use a new gun) part 4.
