And in the automotive world, nothing sounds better than 43 NASCAR Nextel Cup V8s roaring past...

I want the old old Camaro that looked like a Dodge Charger. Those are hot, and they sound like the dog's danglies or whatever you guys say :o

The 1960s "flat front single headlight" Camaro?

I changed from my Octavia to a 4.0 Grand Cherokee.

It is more comfortable, more spacious, more relaxing to drive, it does 1800rpm at 70, and costs £25 a week for my 200 mile commute on LPG.

It is actually cheap to service and parts are cheap. The engine is reliable probably because it is so basic (2 valve per cylinder using pushrods) as they reach 250,000 miles easily.

I doesn't feel of lower quality than the Skoda, but the dash materials do seem cheaper, but the seat trim is lasting better than the Skoda's did and there are less stone chips in the paint.

It's not better, just different, for a different point of view, and I hope people keep thinking they are rubbish because it was such great value for the money.

I wouldn't tell this l'il beauty that she is cr4p! OMG I so love this car.....

For sheer niose to listen to, the BRM v16 mk2 takes some beating.

550 BHP from a supercharged 1.6L v16. It revs so stupidly high, and the pistons are so small, that the engine generally only lasts a couple of laps before the rings are fried.

There is a story about them in Nick Masons book In to the red. This also includes a sound track of various cars featured in the book, the BRM is the only one where the sound is taken from the pits for the entire lap of the donnington circuit.

There now , I think I've posted enough piccies to prove that not all American cars are cr4p! You just have to be selective in what you wish to buy...if they are still affordable that is , most of the cars Ive posted up are way into the stratosphere price wise , especially 'matching numbers' cars. Just look at the prices some of the cars go for at the 'Barret-Jackson' Classic car auction...

I see lots of American cars over here. I don't know what was happening this weekend but I saw two 60s Mustangs outside my work on Friday, then on Saturday a line of three more mustangs with wedding ribbons on :D

Here's one I saw the other week:

They don't salt the roads here which is one of the reasons people drive their classic cars more.

None of those cars are nice!

As an example of american build quality, i once rented a chevrolet cavalier to drive from san fran to san diego along the coast.. it was the worst put together and designed car i had ever had the misfortune of driving. Its 2.2 litre straight 4 put out next to nothing and would scream its tits off if you put your foot down without actually doing a great deal, then it would shift up and drop back down to 1500rpm utterly insane when trying to overtake!

The rear view mirror was made of cast iron, the whole thing rattled as the misaligned cheap plastics vibrated off each other as it got towards 50mph

If you took a corner at more than 15 mph all four tyres would screech their little hearts out.

and most annoying of all.. some plank decided to put a screw in the very bottom of the door handle/ducket thingy so every time i opened or closed the door i got an electric shock off the screw.. it was ****e!!

Hell yeah, i just found a picture of the exact same one.. isn't she a beaut!

Old America cars are cool to look at IMHO.

Never driven one so can't comment on that.

I regularly see these around:

Possiby the ugliest "station wagon" ever!

what is that master piece of automotive engineering rob.. its so pretty! At what stage on the production line do they bolt on the escape pod at the rear?

Exactly! It looks like an afterthought. Then again the saloon is just as ugly.

No no no, it has acid for blood and lives in outer space

They do a Toyota Camry wagon too - it's so wide it has two rear wipers!!

My mother had a Chevy Corvette Sting Ray when she lived in the States in the early 80s. It was blue and it was beautiful.
