1.6 FSI Engine

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm considering an Octavia as a company car (moving from a privately owned Fabia 1.9 Tdi Elegance).

It's likely that it'll have to be the 1.6 FSI engine version, hopefuly in Elegance spec.

Is this a good choice? Does the 1.6 cope OK in a car the size of the Octavia?

I do around 11,000 miles a year, so diesel isn't essential from a mileage point of view, but I do like the 'pull' that a diesel has.

Cheers!

What Car! voted the FSi Ambiente, Small Family Car of the Year in 2005 and 2006, so it must be good!

Where abouts are you in the North West, if you're ever in Preston, call in to Simpsons for a test drive and decide for yourself.

Keep an eye on the speedo. I thought I was keeping just below 100 MPH in

the car I had on loan but it was 110...

I have a 1.6FSI Octy Elegance and its great. Comfortable yet affordable, economical but quick when you need it to be. Highly recommended!

Cheers guys.

I'm going to book a test drive with Robert Eardley in Crewe as soon as I get chance.

I have an 06 1.6 FSI Elegance and I love it. It is a heavy car and is noticeable, especially when the previous car was the light and nimble Fabia (I had an estste) but the Octavia is a lovely car and the cabin is a nice place to be.

I've done things like that!! The upper part of the speedo seems to be marked in 20's, not 10's.
