Parts prices

Featured Replies

At present I have an Audi A4 2.0 TDI. It goes out of warranty at the end of this year and due to potential parts' and repair costs once it is out of warranty, I am thinking of replacing it with another make.

Due to the high standing of the Octavia in both the 2006 Top Gear and JD Power surveys, I'm thinking of a 2.0 TDI Octavia or Superb, Elegance or K+L spec.

The next car may well be my last new car, so what will swing me to, or away from, Skoda are repair and parts' replacement costs.

Does anyone have information on these ?

Thanks

How about extending the warranty. Did it for 3 years on my old A6. Paid for its-self every time!

Bit of a random question to be honest mate. Some things cost pennies and other hundreds of pounds.

Many parts are common to the VAG and are therefore of similar pricing.

You're right, it was a bit vague.

What I was driving at is that some people's experience of cars out of warranty is that they need a lot of things repaired/replaced and are always shocked at how expensive it all costs.

Before the A4 I had a Mk III Golf and, apart from a chip for the fuel feed system (200 Pounds) it needed a lot less doing to it than newer cars of my friends.

The fact that the What Car reader reviews praise the Octavia so highly is steering me towards it.

That is the old Octy MK I though, you might be better off just buying a used car warrenty.
