I REALLY hope they don't find any extra work to do! (not at the amount it's gonna cost!)

Try giving SJB autotech in Basingstoke a call. 01256 478250. They are VAG specialists, and quoted me £160 for a service on a Mk1. As long as the garage is VAT registered there should be no probs with the warranty.

I wonder if the techie got paid that? Pretty sure book time for that service is 1.9 hours.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Mine cost more than that, but looking at it, they changed the sparkplugs (10.40 each) and wiper blades (£20). The total bill was £533 :eek: (but I did have 2 new tyres as well @ £110 each)

Yep, that was one of my charges!

The lady asked me why I was smiling when paying the bill.... I replied that I found it amusing that I had been charged for screen wash when the I knew the bottle was about half an inch from the brim!!

She did offer to refund the charge, but I didn't feel right about accepting a refund of 58pence!!!!

I remember when I worked at a garage, they always said you could get a bottle of screen wash in a full reservoir once you'd 'tested' the washers a few times...
