problems with the radiator fan

Featured Replies

i change the radiator fan and when i turn on the car the fan at the temp required too turn the radiator fan dont work

its probably the temperature switch not the fan. Its rarely the fan motor that goes. But the temperature switch goes fairly regularly it looks like a large bolt with two wires attached to it screwed into the lower part of the radiator.

So to test the fan..pull the two wires from the sensor switch in the radiator, keep fingers and clothing well away from the fan and connect a piece of wire between the two wires. The fan should run. If so,then it is the sensor switch that has failed. Not expensive, but should ideally have been checked first.
