I have a Octavia 2 without MaxiDot model 2007.

Is it possible to install MaxiDot ?

If someone has experience please give some information.

How expensive is expensive, and could one be salvaged from a breaker...?

Well, you could get one from the breakers but unless you also get the pin code to the imobiliser you wont be able to code the ecu to the keys and the car.

I quiet like the idea of trying but the dashpod new is to expensive. IIRC someone tried getting a maxidot one when their normal one failed under warranty but skoda wouldnt entertain it.

From the donor car you need the pod which will have an SKZ number on a sticker on it (This may also be seen in the firmware if you have power on it), the chassis number and the registration (although I can't see why that is important)

Using that number and the same set of numbers from your car you need to obtain 2 seperate 4 digit SKC's from a dealer.

With the SKC's you will also need the dealer number, UK importer number (571) and the date that the SKC was generated.

£450 big ones.

Some are £670

Hold the front page - just found one at £865 (Octavia II TDi 170 with MaxiDot)

Around £300-£500

The registeration document etc is required to show you are the owner of the vehicle so the security codes/procedure can be authorised, so clockings etc aint going on.

Dealer should also keep a log of any code requests and the details of who asked for the code etc just in case it needs to be traced.

A maxi dot price is like 166euros for RS version and 140euros for normal.

I don't know much about technical stuff what do i need to install it.. although i will go to a skoda dealer / service to install it.. but first I thought to give a try and ask you guys what do you think.. will be problems?

I guess the code will be shipped with it as the maxi dot comes with a part of dashboard. ( i apologize for my english)

That is a good price, pity they'll be no good for us as they'll be KMH.

Make sure you get the right one for your engine.

Well if you have your code and the new dash pod has the code with it your sorted when it comes to the immobilizer.
