I've had my 06 Octy Ambient 1.6 FSI for about 5 weeks now and I am delighted with it.

Only one minor gripe. What can be done about the condensation in the headlights? Is this a known problem?:)

At that age, talk to your dealer. It sounds like a manufacturing issue to me (esp if Octys don't have separate glasses and reflectors).
