Adding a Rev Counter

Featured Replies

Hi people,

We have a basic Felicia LX, 1.3 MPI with the coilpack on the spark plugs. The dashboard only has the Speedo and a Clock. The wife wants to keep the clock as she says that it is very handy on the school run.

My question is: Can I add a normal Tacho that works on the negative of the coil? If yes is the wiring there ready already behind the clocks?

Cheers,

put your foot down and tell her your getting a tacko in place of the clock. end of.

then go on ebay and get a tacko.

job done.

Don't get me wrong, IT'S getting a tacho. I just need to know if the wiring is there and can I use a coil negative version. I know on some cars with ECU's you can't.

I'm going to keep the dashboard clock but want to add an external tacho. Maybe a big fat shift light jobby . . . or maybe keep it discreet. We'll see.

I would check but I haven't bought the Haynes lie book yet for the wiring diagrams.

haven't bought the Haynes lie book yet .

ha yer, your not wrong.

what i meant was, it would be sooooo much easier to fit the skoda one in the place of the clock. cuz you can get them of ebay, and you know its guna fit/work properly.

Yeah I would have thought it would be easier to fit a genuine rev counter and get a cheap digital clock from Halfords.

Seesm to be going a bit backwards about it.

Seems to be going a bit backwards about it.

Mmmmm . . . so if I got an original dash with tacho, is the wiring already there?

I still fancy a pod mounted one on top of the dash though
