Liverpool Victoria/Frizzell Renewals

Featured Replies

The nice lady at LV confirmed several times that I can use the car on a Track Day as long as no time trial and no racing. Good enough for me.

'your call may be recorded for training purposes and for your protection and our protection against fraud' - whatever she said is on tape or disc somewhere.........

I cant find the info anywhere - I think it was on a slip with my renewal, I will call about the track day just to be sure its logged - I called re the motorsport experience day and that was ok once they had asked the underwritters - again it was ok as long as it was not competitive and no racing

My feeling is that in any conflict they would have to prove you were in an actual 'race' which you are not, seeing as there are no set laps, no chequered flags, no awards, no 'teams' etc etc. Also as there is no 'official' time keeping either it would be impossible to prove 'timed' trials. Thus, a Track Day is where you drive your car with like minded people and you can do fast, slow or mediocre laps and as many or as few as you like.

I would be happy to argue that in court. Just be sure to establish these facts on the phone and take the name of the person you deal with. Any reputable company should support what you say. In fact I think there are enough 'witnesses' on this forum to prove a point in a dispute??

Pity we have to be so defensive innit? almost suggests that insurers are out there to grab your cash and then wriggle out of paying you a penny, hhmm............

cheers Chris

ps it seems ironic that Jabba can up my bhp to 360 using the bigger turbo, a bigger inlet manifold and updated chip and that wouldn't cost any extra on insurance BUT if I did a rebore and took my standard vRS up to 1805cc - I get an increased premium. Think I'll stick to those little software tweaks.

pps - NOS is a bit of a no no apparantly. No 'laughing' matter!

It looks as if my fear of the premium being bumped up after the first year was unfounded. Last year I paid

They do seem to be amazing don't they.

We had our home insurance to renew. As my car was with them, I gave them a ring for home and contents cover.

Their quote was a third lower than anyone elses, and while all the others wanted estimated values for the building, and for the contents, and if we wanted shed stuff covered, LV just said, 2 bed terrace sir, and 1 claim in the past 3 years. That comes into our

That sounds a good deal on home insurance. I have a 5 bedroom house which, because of that one extra bedroom, doesn't find favour with many mainstream insurers - at least not at reasonable premiums. I will give LV a try at renewal time.

A lot of people here have said that Liverpool Victoria (also known as Frizzell) have proved to offer the best deal for them.

Has anyone renewed their insurance with them yet? Are they cheap because they offer good introductory discounts or cheap in the longer term?

I am now able to answer this. Last year's fully comp premium with LV was

I can echo what Denis said.

Renewal with Frizzell was significantly cheaper than a "new" quote with the two best runners-up, and I'm satisfied that there's no problem with the modifications. Details are here

My Primera GT is currently with L+V so I wen to their site to get a quote for my soon-to-be purchased Octy RS

We've been over this one 1000 times ;)

You have to call them and declare the mods, as the online quote system can not check with an Underwriter ;)

The only mod they won't touch is a bigger engine. :)

Aha! You've let slip its an Octy you're getting! Will look out for it on my next trip through the Sourton area! ;)

It shouldn't be hard to spot as its yellow :)

If its on the drive pop in for a cuppa :)

Not the one off ebay is it? I noticed the word "cider" in the winners ID, and thought it sounded a little "westcountry" ;)

Nope, mine is coming from Irvines at Bridgewater. They gave me a reasonable px on my Primera with 90k on the clock. The car is currently sitting inside their showroom (not out on the lot) as their 'example' vRS

It's been touched on before but re: modifications. I phoned LV the other day to tell them of my mods and all they are interested in is engine, brakes or exhaust. What I mean is that it's that general. They weren't that interested in the particular changes just that a modification had been done.
