Fabia vRS reliability

Featured Replies

I have an 06 plate from new but i've only done about 8k miles. The car had a slight stutter that was fixed under warranty, a sticky rear window demister switch that was sorted straight away (apparentely common design fault which is fixed by shaving a bit of plastic off) and some noisy brakes when it was brand new which seemed to disappear quite quickly.

I have never had any water leaks or any of the other relatively common faults like squeaky dash boards etc. Touch wood

I'm still loving it :)

Had mine since new (54 plate), done 45,000 miles and only thing gone wrong so far is the switch for the drivers window which was fixed about 30,000 miles ago and an annoying rattle (which is still there) coming from the handbrake area every time you pull away, which is puzzling.

So not too bad really, shame about the people who have had loads of problems with their cars, hope the next car is an improvement.

The saga continues;

0k - Creaky doors - Still an issue

4k - Creaking clutch pedal - Warranty 2 hrs

16k - Front offside wheel bearing went - Warranty 2days

22k - Paint peeled from bumper seam - Warranty 2 days

25k - Flywheel went, took the clutch with it - Warranty 1 week

35k - Rear brakeline cracked - Did this myself because the dealer would take too long

37k - Rear window delaminating - Waiting for it to get bad enough to get it replaced under warranty

39k - Turbo went - Warranty - 4 days

40k - Headlamp washers - Fitter didn't attach pipe after above repair, not the cars fault but still part of my experiance - 1 hr

45k - CV joint on it's way will wait for the service to get it sorted

Mine was built by the work experiance kid.

:(

Owned from new since Sep 05, so 30k miles in 18 months, and not a single problem. Just the scheduled services and two front tyres at c.22k miles. And still love the turbo surge and the great feeling of fun performance from a car costing £12k and giving me 52mpg calculated brim to brim for every tank since new! Love it!

I had an annoying rattle by my handbrake i found it to be where the seat belt clips in bang/rattling against the plastic. I solved it by sticking a peace of fuzzy kids foam stuff on each of them where the seat belt clips in.

I wish. A lot of these failure are not "wear" related, just bad kit.

There are no mods whatsoever. None. Not one.

It has done 45k in 18 months which is probably a lot of the issue, but I really believe mine was finished at 4.45pm on a friday.
