Rear Fog Lights

Featured Replies

Does anyone know whether or not there should be one, or both, rear fog lights that light up when activating the rear fog light switch. I own a 2006 Octavia 2.0FSI Estate and only the offside lights up. My local dealer is a little vague and states that either one or both could light up, but it is normal for offside only, not awfully helpful! Looking at the fog light bulbs it seems they double up as a secondary side light bulb (21 watt bulbs working on reduced current- I think- increasing the current when the rear fogs are switched on). As I am not a car electrician your comments/views would be appreciated.

Thanks,

John

It's on another thread.

In short, it's one. It's the offisde.

The car's computer can be programmed to put either fog light on or both.

Generally you only need one, since usually it's more than enough to laser blast the eyes of everyone behind, causing mayhem and stress, when people turn them just beacuse visibilty drops dangerously to under a mile or two, or the the first spots of rain fall.

Any chance if the car is set to be left hand drive that setting one fog lamp on will be the other side that is on yours at present...maybe daft but ya never know (it would probably mess up a load of other stuff though).
