What area are you in? Let me know, and I'll find out....

The problem with the MFD2 and the Skoda DSP is that the MFD2 can't activate the Skoda DSP. You need a separate unit for that - so you can either get a Dietz adapter or buy a dedicated one (a little cheaper) for your belongings. Been there, done that. :)

Can you be more especific, please. You mean a diferent DSP? Are you sure about that?

I'm in Lisbon/Setubal area. Any help is welcomed.

The Skoda DSP is normally only equipped with Radio Stream/Audience and not with the MFD2. Both radios send an activation message over the CAN to the DSP, which then "opens" the channels for sound output. This is special for the Skoda DSP, the VW DSP does that without such a message it's getting triggered right by the sound signal itself. If you don't activate the DSP it will be muted and you won't hear anything.

So if you wanna install a MFD2 in a Skoda Octavia with OEM DSP you need to install a separate device which sends the same message when the radio is turned on. There are 2 ways to do that, you can buy the expensive Dietz adapter or you can buy a specific device (80-100 EUR) that does the same.

Makes sense now?

I may have a few contacts in Viseu for you. I'll have a look around....

Thanks. Finally I see a light in the dark. So with "a specific device" you mean a specific or diferent DSP right? Another thing, do you know by any chance what Dietz adapter will work? (sorry for the ignorance).

Once again, many thanks for your help

That would be really nice. Thanks

No, I mean either the Dietz or a similar adapter.
