Two Questions About My Fabia vRS

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me what are the level of revs needed before the turbo kicks in on my Faby vRS?

And

Who actually makes the Skoda stereo's and speakers. I am very impressed!

Thanks

First one to answer. Thanks Babs

Think the radio's are by Sony.........:) .........Maybe wrong though, as I usually am..:(

Stereos will either be Blaupunkt or Grundig. Deffo not Sony.

just saying, the majority of VAG OEM stereo stuff is (or was) Blaupunkt

Not according to the Dealers, see they Know nothing. Only reason I mentioned Sony was that I had the Radio Changed under warranty in the VRs and the Dealer said they were made by Sony. Thanks guys I stand corrected.....:)

My old tape player was a grundig.

My turbo starts to build up some boost right down at 1500rpm, but I don't let it start really going until 2000. It's a very gradual thing which I like, and don't believe it has a "cut-in" as such.

T'was a fair comment - I had 3 9N Polo's in a row 95N thru to 99V (all pre-facelift) and they all came with Sony's, but of course now everything is branded so you have no idea unless you rip it out for a look round the back I suppose.

The VW Gamma's were Blaupunkt (good) then changed to Sony (bad).

As LMX said, I believe the Skoda unit's are either Blaupunkt or Grundig.

I only had mine in for 1 day as I got a Pioneer, however I left the standard speakers in for ages, powered by a Boston Acoustics amp (overkill)... They are pretty decent for OE speakers. I've now got some Ground Zero components in there, and they give a cleaner sound, but only because I overdrove the woofers on the OE setup.

Oh, and:

I think you meant 6n Polos... 9n was post 2001 :)

Doh, sorry I stand corrected - they were still nice cars compared to the '88 Polo Coupe S I had before - now that was a model description that'd get VW's *** sued off under the Trade Description Act in today's society!

The Cd player is made by Grundig

The standard head unit and speakers sound pretty weedy to me, well compared to the standard Clarion unit in my old Peugeot 306... is it the speakers or the head unit then?

It's the head unit...

Put a decent stereo in there and the front speakers aren't all that bad.

Or amp the standard head unit and speakers.
