Fitting Larger Front Speakers to Fabia?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Help Please

A few months ago I saw an excellent post with pictures ,where the original front speakers were removed ,and larger speakers fitted. It even described making an MDF spacer.I have tried for a day using the ' search ' function , trying to find this post without success.

I used the Autoleads adapter ring meant for MK4 Golfs to mount 6.5" Speakers in the front.

I stuck the crossovers behind the doorcard too, and put the tweeters in the stock locations.

Sorry, but I don't have any photos of the procedure.

Just be careful when choosing the speakers though, as there's not much depth for them. I got some Ground Zero components and they only just fit (with the rubber removed from around the magnet).

I have replied in the other thread.

Please if you are going to start a thread and ask a question, do it once in one section.

Cheers

thanks for the posts.I am still searching, but unable to locate the original post ,which gave details of making speaker spacers and fitting them. This post had very good informative photos . It is a possibility that it has been deleted, which would be a shame, especially as the author spent a lot of time making it. Any Ideas please?

Just bought a 2004 Skoda Fabia and interested to get some installation ideas. In terms of speaker depth and spacers for screw holes

This thread reminded me that I still had a pair of unfitted pioneer components lying around.

Spent 5 hours this afternoon trying to tackle the various unthought of problems I encountered along the way. Speakers are in but my tweeters are too big to go in the normal place :(

Can anybody tell me how easy it is to route cables in a tidy manner so I can sit them on the dash ?

Failing that I might drive around without a doorcard on for a bit until I work it out.
