Rear interior trim removal/filler flap problem

Featured Replies

The fuel filler flap on my Elegance Estate has stopped opening properly.I suspect it is usually popped open by a spring when the solenoid operates and either the spring is dead or broken. The solenoid still makes a healthy clunk.

I need to remove the rear trim to take a look but would like to know where to start.Do I have to take off the rear speaker unit above the trim or will the trim just pull out?

Thanks in advance,Dave

if you mean the trim in the boot area then it's fairly simple to remove - I created a guide to replacing the rear speakers which covers most of it. Download it from here...

Hope that helps.

To access the solenoid on the estate, it is pretty easy. Open the 'fabric' access door on the right hand side of the boot, and using a small screw driver loosen one screw and then I believe the solenoid will come out.

I took mine out months ago, just for the sake of it (oh, and put it back again and it still worked afterwards!)
