I've got a new inlet manifold to fit and when I do I also want to take the throttle body off and give it a clean.

When it all goes back together will I have to do a throttle body alignment with Vag-Com?

Or as long as I don't move/knock anything will it all be fine?

Looks like a job for Friday afternoon then, assuming my powder coated manifold turns up this week

Just something to note, any coating or polishing reduces the thermal qualities of the manifold and can raise intake temps.

i can understand how a coating can lower the manifolds ability to shed heat but if your coating with a material that vastly decreases the amount of heat the manifold absorbs from its surroundings, where its bolted to the engine and the air passing through it then surely its a good thing?

I'm now running an FMIC and i'm going to fit the EVOshield gasket to reduce heat transfered to the inlet manifold from the block

Was going to mention some sort of gasket to aid heat transfer.... i had a polished (externally) manifold on my old octy and a power gasket from Awesome... you could after a run out hold the inlet manifold !

I had problems when refitting the throttle body so i would say that it wont hurt to realign using vag-com if you have access and it isnt a major job for you.

In saying that mine started playing up shortly afterwards so the dealers changed it for a nice shiney new one under warranty... which was nice cause it looked better than the old one...

What colour have you got then?

It's Satin Black and i'm having a number of the bolts chromed so should look rather nice when done. Will post pics.
