Carbonio air feed

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just had the carbonio fitted, and was wondering what you guys did regarding the air feed to the filter?

I have done some research and its seems to be a split as to which method is best.

1. leave the filter in STILL COLD AIR

2. Have cold air on the filter as your driving

I have noticed i could drill a few holes in the front grill (lower right side)

which would give me direct cold air.

or should i leave alone and leave it in the still air?

Any opinions welcome

Cheers

Anyone??

I drilled out the lower grille to get more air to the filter.

I took my lower grills out alltogether.

I took the inpection hatch out, left front grills for a warmer night :D

I have left my grills alone, too lazy to do drilling etc.

As its at the front of the car, all the heat should be behind it?

Cheers guys i might have a go at drilling tomorrow.

Saw yours today Colin on the way to the park, noticed u hadn't drilled out the front, does removing the inspection panel make any diference?

i suppose cold air will get sucked up so might give that a go to.

Thx

Mike

I drilled mine out too, you'd think Skoda would have done so originally to match the feed to the IC on the other side? Would have looked more aesthetically pleasing if the left and right side matched, and would have saved me making a mess of my kitchen! :D

Andy

I drilled out the grill but then my air feed goes down to the grill.

Mike[/quote']Hi Mike,

Should of knocked on le'door would of woken me up. :D

Well my assumption is that they ain't water tight down there, so air should find it's way. Mine is not struggling for air, at least I don't think so. There should be a good upflow of air through that panel (quite large) since the air is forced down under the car.

Half an hour with drill and file will see vent sorted. I will do that at some point, but at present it keeps hte filter cleaner of impact dirt :D

Summer will really tell I guess.
