Can this be fitted into a Fabia vRS???

Featured Replies

I'm just wondering if this Skoda in-dash CD changer can be fitted in the DIN slot under the existing HU in a Fabia vRS??? And if so would any cabling be required or would it plug straight into the existing HU???

I think it would fit Dave.

You'd need a CD changer lead but it could be shortened or you could make your own.

Would look nice as the buttons are lit.

Cheers for the reply Stu....... I'm assuming that there must be a short CD changer lead for when this is fitted in an Octy or Superb..... (Whichever it comes from)....... Might have to have a think about this and probably give it a go.

It's an Octy / Golf and similar boot changer so no short lead I'm afraid. That said there may be an Audi / VW one that that is similar.

Hmmmmmmmm....... Me thinks i might be making a trip to the local Dub & Audi dealers to check...... I'm really not a "Make my own leads up" kinda person.:confused::confused:

Also gotta check what colour the buttons light up....... It says it's out of a skoda so i assume it'll be green but you never know!!!!!

Pretty sure mine are red.

Not sure if the red would go with the rest of the dash being in green.......... It'll probably depend how cheap i can get one. And how easy the the lead problem can be overcome.

Do you have one of these then?????? And if so do you have it in the dash or in the boot?

It's in the boot - Standard fitment.

Aaaaahhh right.... I just assumed the unit was meant to fit in the dash of the car rather than the boot......... Sorry for the 'Question Time'.

My Passat has an in dash 6 cd changer fitted immediately below a "Gamma" HU. I cannot imagine that there will be a huge difference in the bits. In any event, chances are a short lead exists in the VW parts bin but whether it will work in the Skoda set up is a different issue. Sorry, not much help I am afraid.

was about to say my mate has a passat with this changer in it. if it is from a skoda then the colours should be fine.

That is a boot changer from the Octavia 2. the leads have different pin assignments from the older changer (including the Passat ones).
