Maxi-Dot Functions

Featured Replies

Does anyone have a definitive list of what functions are available with a maxidot and exactly what each function does.

Ive been searching and heard about anti hijacking door opening coming home lights etc but cant find a definitive answer anywhere.

What would be really helpful would be a pdf of the owners manual if anyone has one. i live in germany so cant nip to local dealer and buy one as it comes in german.

Cheers

Carl

To enable anti - hijack you need to press and hold one of the up and down buttons (on the end of the stalk) for a few seconds, this will bring up the menu. Use reset button to select (the one under the stalk).

Anti - Hijack is under convenience (IIRC) and its the second thing on the list but its called something else, there is also the option there for single door unlock or all doors unlock and also for the interior lights to come on.

I've got a UK manual but it isn't the greatest when it comes to the Maxi-dot, I found out most of the functions just playing with the menu.

EDIT :- You can also change the Maxidot display to show the radio display.

The other problem is that the age of the car varies how many options are available - some of the options are only available on 2007MY onwards.

Its for a MY2007 as i pick mine up in 12 days time

I picked up my Octy II 4x4 today and have just done the anti-hijack thing. It is the "convenience" option. There are 3 options, "1-door", "Auto-close" and "Auto-open". 1-door was activated when I got it (only drivers door unlocks on one push of the remote), and I activated the other two options myself.

Thanks for the info, I thought I'd post this so that people know it works!

Possibly stupid question but can the firmware be flashed to give us with older versions the functions on the newer versions?

Happy to help. I found how to use the Maxi dot when I asked my dealer to enable anti hijack for me when they did the PDI. They said they did, except they didn't, they enabled the one door opening (which is annoying IMO) and didn't enable the auto close and auto open that I wanted.

Just been reading the manual on the Maxidot again, and came across a supplement to the owners manual in the owners pack.

Copied out below for anyone who is interested or hasn't got the supplement, (my comments are in brackets).

Door open - Here you can switch on or off the functions for opening a single door and automatic closing (anti-hijack)

ATA Confirm - Here you can set if a signal tone should sound additionally when activating or deactivating the anti-theft alarm system.

Conv. mode - Here you can set the convenience mode only for the driver window or for all the windows (one touch operation of windows)

Mirror adjust. - Here you can switch on or off the function for mirror adjustment on the front passenger side when engaging the reverse gear. (not on my car, cause I have reverse sensors?)

Mirror adjust. - Here you can switch on or off the function for left and right exterior mirror adjustment simultaneously.

Rain-closing - On vehicles with rain sensor you can switch on or off the functions for automatic closing of the sliding/tilting roof in case of rain. If it is not raining and the function is set, the windows including the sliding/tilting roof are closed automatically after approx. 12 hours.

Factory Setting - After selecting this menu the convenience setting is reset to factory setting. The following is displayed in the information display:

Factory setting for convenience is set.

Mirror adjust. - Here you can switch on or off the function for mirror adjustment on the front passenger side when engaging the reverse gear. (not on my car, cause I have reverse sensors?)
Are you saying you don't have the menu option, or that you don't think it works..? If the latter, you need to put the mirror adjustment switch to "L" for the mirror to dip (on a RHD car).

I don't have the option. I might have a little play again though in the next few days.

I think that function was only available if you had electric memory seats...

Ah yes, that sounds familiar - it's something to do with having the memory functionality within the mirror...

wondering if the current maxidot functions can be upgraded without changing the hardware?

My octy has limited maxidot functions. Anyone here has any idea if it can be upgraded via software upgrade?

Thanks!

It's MY 2006.5. Mine is on a 56 plate and has the later functions on the maxidot. The car comes with a supplement to the brochure stating all the upgrades on the MY2006.5 car. HTH.
