Bit of a strange/silly question, but do any of you know what a 'clutch slave hose' does?? and/or what benefits installing one would have?

Cheers! :D

The slave cylinder is the little piston that pushes the clutch release fork to work the clutch. The hose runs from the clutch fluid reservoir, and moves the fluid back and forth when you apply the clutch pedal. If you are talking about the Fabia, it will already have one. If you are talking about your Golf, then it probably can be done, but will involve alot of work as the whole clutch system has to be converted to hydraulic.

Hope this helps and isn't too confusing. Put it the simplest way I could think, so as not to baffle non-techie types.
