dave the dissapointed

Featured Replies

Oooo Dear

Had the car 4 1/2 months from new, been back to dealer 4 times with same problem, keep being told sorted then happens again...misfire on number2 engine light flashing, turn off, turn on, engine light on all the time, back to garage, start again.....question...are all the skoda jokes justified? never had one before, very dissapointed, tempted to reject it

anyone had same probs?

lovely car but not reliable.

help!!!!

What is it?

1.2, 1.4, 2.0, 3.2?

Do they know what is wrong with it (from fault codes?). I think 4 times is reasonable enough to have it fixed, and I'd certainly be looking to reject the car if it was me. Is it a brand new car or was it bought 2nd hand?

its a brand new 1.4 petrol. ambiente saloon

the dealer has replaced the coil on number 2 twice, with my knowledge of old cars i'd be looking at points/condenser but these new ones!!!!

Typical.

Instead of moaning at the dealer, he comes on here and complains to us.

No location for him, so we can't go and hold his hand.

No dealer info. so don't know who to avoid.

There should be a minimum joining fee, refundable after 10 posts, but chargeable if you only post once in a blue moon, and then only to witter.

They get on my tits.

If everybody just posted how fantastic their Skodas were, it'd be a dull place.

I think he has already moaned at the dealer, quite a lot, from his post. Like any of us, he wants to know if anyone else has had the same problem, and if we think he should reject the car. Seems fair enough to me.

Yes but where is he so anyone local can assist if they can?

Which dealer is it, so if anyone has had a similar problem with a useless dealer, and we know how it was resolved we can pass the information on and make said dealer less useless.

I have never said my Skoda is fantastic, but it does it's job well.

If you want to moderate on a forum that is rapidly increasing with members that only want free advice, and then complain anyway, good luck to you.You must have great patience.

I know this is completely off topic but I just read your last sentence as saying 'You must have great panties'. Time for new glasses.

Having the guys location would be an advantage in helping him out.

Hello all

firstly, i'm new to this forum thing so apologies if people are upset by comments...

secondly, i am not unhappy with the dealer, it would be nice to know if anyone out there has had similar trouble with this misfire problem so that i could help the dealer by pointing him in the right direction...i am on the south coast of kent but don't want to name the dealer until the've had a chance to sort it out.

today the dealer has given us another courtesy car and said they are going to get a top notch skoda technician to look at it

dave

 Mr. G is in fine fettle this afternoon :D I think he is getting at the fact you have never posted to say hello or in any other topic other than you own problems, stick around and contribute to the site, don't be too put off

PS welcome to Brisky

Hello David.

Nobody is upset by your comments, it's just seems to be the general way in which the forum is going.

Post a 'hello' in the new members section, pay

Thanks for the encouragement, i think i could enjoy it here.

if mr G is a 60's child, i should probably be even more old and miserable :-) as arriving mid 50's.

there are some good sides to this, i know everyone at my local dealership by first names and i got to drive a 1.4 sport as one of the courtesy cars...very impressed...didn't take it over 70 though...honest.

as said, i'm not complaining , just would like to know what's going on..

its a sunny day here in kent

Hmmm.... South Kent, That would be Addamsons or Caffyns or possibly Motorline?

I use Motorline (Canterbury) for Servicing and Caffyns for any warranty work as I live near Ashford and they seem to be good at what they do.

You'l get it fixed before long, I had a problem and it took a while to fix but they sorted it in the end.

update on fabby.(my wife's nickname for the car) we now have a 1.2 estate courtesy car in a gunmetal grey sort of colour, she tells me it drives really well.

if we carry on like this we will be test driving the entire range!!!

to date its a 1.4 sport, a 1.2 estate and a roomster(didn't enjoy driving that one much)but i expect it would be good for family holidays

nothing from the dealer yet on our misfire problem but i'll update the forum as soon as we get a result
