I'm pleased to report that thanks to Ade I now have my Jabba'd ECU operating in the new furby. I'm not sure it's putting out the same level of output as it did in the old car, but it still feels a lot quicker than before.

So, a trip to Jabba at noon tomorrow should tell me exactly what it's putting out and if it can be tweaked to suit the new car's engine.

UH-OH! look out for low flying Furbys in the very near future then.

It WAS (before I decided to take flying lessons in it) putting out 147BHP and somewhere around 245 lb/ft torque... Not too bad from a PD100 engine. Off to Jabba at noon today to have it checked out in the new car. I reckon at the moment it may not be putting out more than 140BHP, and Mike may need to tweak it a little to suit the new car's engine... not sure really. I'll report back of course.

OK - the furby has been rolling roaded at Jabba today, and as I thought, the ECU is not putting out the same BHP in this car compared to the old one - why, I'm not sure but obviously this ECU was mapped to a different car and swapping it about would never have been perfect. Still, it's putting out nicely over 140BHP and when floored it still goes some compared to standard, so I'm still damn happy!

Jabba said there could be a software change to the map, which if it works and is useful, can be done in conjunction with the below... a few more horses and some low down torque to squeeze out the engine.

( BTW - Koni's fitting booked for day before Bruntingthorpe trackday! )

sorry, Adrian - I thought all my Jabba chatter was a big enough clue that it's Jabba doing it. And if the software upgrade for the PD100 map is available at the time I'll get that done too. It's a very reasonable price too - a little more for materials than you could get on the web, but good value labour.

Bedding in? That a really essential part of suspension upgrading? hmm. But, yes, the eibachs are going to be rescued off the wreck and put on the Koni's.

Dave had KW2 fitted recently and the car was a bit bouncy on the way back.....I think it took a few days to settle down plus he needed to have the tracking sorted.

I thought you were having done at Jabba but didn't like to assume.

Tracking, etc I'll have to sort out later on. With the springs alone tracking / alignment wasn't really an issue - even powerstation said the setup was reasonably good without any tweaking, so I'm hoping for the same again in the short run.

(anyway, I'm hoping Brunters is fairly flat and "bounciness" shouldn't be a long term issue. I'm comtemplating a nice 500 mile drive the day before now for a bit of bedding in... )

PowerStation worked wonders on the Scooby so I was wondering if getting some Eibachs for the Fabia PD100 would transform it as it has a little body roll at the moment? Any other stuff which you'd recommend be done at the same time apart from a 4 wheel geometry setup? Was planning on keeping the standard 14" alloys for the time being, but may upgrade to slightly larger ones in the future...

... And then I need to persuade my insurance company that a visit to Jabbasport for a remap shouldn't affect my insurance
