If you use an authorised repair centre, do you get charged?

Featured Replies

I've got a brand new Octy VRS TDI and last night the "Control System for Exhaust Gases" light came on. No dealerships close to me can fit me in today so I have found an authorised repair centre that can look at it. My question is, as the car is obviously in warranty (it's only 4 days old!), would I have to pay the repair centre to sort it out? Or do they just claim it back from the warranty?

Please help, it's booked in for this lunchtime!

It's okay, forget about it - I'm told that they can do warranty work so therefore don't charge - let's just hope they can sort out this damn light - I've only done about 400 miles in it and already I'm getting warning lights....:(

My warning light came on when my Octavia vRS TDi was a couple of days old, too, don't know why. The dealer connected a laptop and all was sorted.

Turns out it is a dodgy glow plug relay so they've had to order one in for me. Apparently it is okay to drive like that.....let's hope so. They've turned the light off for now...

I think that is a know fault, so should be ok.

Ditto,

only had the car (2007 Octy vrs tdi) for two days when the light "Control System for Exhaust Gases" came on, booked in for this friday to replace the glow plug relay, so looks like this is a common fault. the vrs test car which i test drove has the light on too. Fingers crossed it will sort the issue once and for all.

Glad it's not just me, now all I need is the DPF light and I've got the full set :)

Other than that, I'm loving this car - came from a Passat TDI Highline before this and it's SO much nicer to drive than that!
