Newbie with an L&K... HELP!!!

Featured Replies

I have just aqcuired a 53 Reg 1.9TDI Laurin & Klement Octy Mk1 for

Can't help with many of your questions but 18s will fit without much trouble.

19s are getting tight and 20s will go with rubber band tyres but look daft

Check the http://www.briskoda.net/forums/briskoda-partners/ for help with lowering springs (and maybe wheels too).

The exhaust tip strikes me as counter-productive, cos it'll make the car look vaguely like it's got a sports zorst on it and you seem to be going for an untuned sleeper look.

If your long-term plans don't include an FMIC, I'd suggest cutting away and fitting a grille over, or Swiss-cheezing, the RH front arch liner, since there's no obvious way for air from the SMIC to escape other than through the back lower corner of the wing as standard.

Is your car GN53DP*?

Just curious.....

Cheers for the advice Ken.

BTW Its a MK53 Reg.

Plz keep ur advice/thoughts coming in, nice one.

Eibach anti-roll bars, jabba remap, uprated powerflex bushes, KW v3 suspension, blueflame exhaust, Team dynamice light Pro wheels, Kumho MX tyres, K&N panel filter, pimp tints, side repeaters from an RS (they're smoked rather than clear and are about £5 for the pair :D ) and the all important green Magic Tree air freshener.

Some or all of those things may have been on my old car, which may or not have been an L&K (or it could just have been an SDI 'cos that's the badge it had on it :D )

Tavia cheers for the detailed advice. Quick Q, can i make those mods (emphasis on the exhust) without modifying the rear bumper??

Oh yes. Looks completely standard, apart from its a single rather than a double. Hides behind the bumper :D

Have you thought about the WRC rear spoiler? Personally I think it looks great on the hatch, much better than any other aftermarket one.

I do like the wheels in your link (can you get them in anthracite finish?). If you do decided to change your wheels I might be interested in buying your L&K wheels off you.
