Delivery delayed by 2 weeks

Featured Replies

I was expecting delivery today of my TDi vRS, only to find out, TODAY, that delivery to the dealer has been put back 2 weeks.

Anyone else had their delivery date put back?

Steve

Not that I know of. Have been told around 20th March for my petrol vRS. Will check this.

Sorry to hear that you have been let down Steve.

Was any reason given? Wont be that chuffed myself if they tell me the same.

M

Know how you feel m8. It will be here before you know it :)

They are just prolonging the expectation :)

I had my delivery delayed nearly 3 weeks. If i turn up to pick mine up on the 24th and they tell me that its delayed further i will start world war 4  as i gotta fly from germany to pick mine up.

Ive been assured though by my dealer it will be ready on the 24th and i have now got the chassis number so hopefully this time next week i shall be on my way back to the fatherland in a shiny new race blue vRS. So hang in there mate all good things come to those who wait.

Just think of the petrol you will have saved over those 2 weeks:rofl:

Spoke to my dealer today re the delivery of my car.

She said that she had checked this morning and that it was in the country and just needed to be brought to them via transporter. She was going to ring me this Thursday anyway and that I could expect to pick it up early next week. I was told that when it arrived it would only be a matter of a few hours before it could be made ready for collection.

Afterwards, I thought, yeah, a few hours...... I want the thing given a good going over before I pick it up. I want a small team of people/experts in clean overalls inspecting and polishing it for a bit longer than that. Plus it avoids all those little mishaps regarding suspension packing etc. :)

No delay was mentioned to me and as I am unfamiliar with the 'normal' time scale I can not say whether a car built in 'week nine' on the 26th of Feb is over due if it arrives next week.

M

Ordered mine on the 2nd of Feb and was told 10-12 weeks for the delivery with the extras i wanted.

Hmm i thought and said why not.

Added the 18" wheels, Heated seats, Head lamp washers, Sun blind and 1.5l bottle holder in the rear.

I passed by the dealer in Cork on the 7th of march and called in and was told that the car had just finished the production.

They said it would be in Ireland in 2 weeks. Passed by the dealer on Paddy's day and there it was in the showroom.

Dealer making the most of advertising it while they're awaiting my Reg details to come.

Pick up day now on Wednesday so I can't wait.

& weeks in total not bad

Heard some horror storys about waiting times on GTI / GT TDi with extras added.

Whats' the average time for some people?

Colin

My vRS TDI with quite a few extras including xenons & heated seats was ordered on 1st Feb (like vRS 170TDi Cork's) and is listed according to my dealer as 'dispatched from Factory 13/03/2007' having being built the week before.

Due to get an update today and my dealer has always said that I will get it by the end of March. Here's hoping.

Hey Steve,

Haven't you jumped the gun a touch on the 'Who's got a vRS?' thread then. Naughty, naughty.

Come in no 78; your time is up!

I thought the bloody thing would be here by now; hence my inclusion on the list!

I sold my 182 ages ago and we have a one car family for a while now. Lucky the weather has been OK for my wife to walk the little lad to pre-school!

Steve,

Saw a brand new red Octy vRS at the dealers this afternoon. It was the first time I had seen one close up. I was gobsmacked at how cool it looks in red! A nice choice may I say......didn't think it would be that brilliant until I saw it. It gave the car a sporty edge and a great 'stance'.

The car was at Mitchells and was basic spec.

Two things:

1) The tunnel that runs under the roof lining felt a bit naff. Between the sunglasses holder and the rear courtesy light. The suporting material felt a bit, well, slightly firmer than the stuff they use for Mc Donalds drinks holders. Drat! Plus an unexplained plastic joint the was at the front of the dashboard close to the front screen. Didn't remember seeing it before and worse still was 'arching up' at its top left corner. Tried to move it into 'position' but stuck solid and at an angle.

2) Happened to see a Mazda 6 MPS also in red there as well. Have read posts on Briskoda about how highly they are rated. I have no idea how it drives and the boot isn't as big as an Octy's BUT WOW.......couldn't get over how it looked. Just stunning!

I'm not saying there is anything up with the vRS, but goodness me the Mazda, especially with full leather, was stunning.

Red IS the way forward after all! :)

Update?

Mine, RED by the way, is still listed (Wed pm) as 'dispatched from factory 13/03/2007'!! Dealer is still promising, well suggesting, 'by the end of the month'.

I hope so.

The MPS is nice. I had a demo drive in one last year at a Mazda promotions day at Bruntingthorpe.

My reasons for choosing the Octavia are simple - it was the best car on the co. car list! I had a Mk1 vRS which I was happy with and so thought I'd have a go at the new shape.

I chose red as I drove the same car you looked at I get (Mitchell's Wirral) for a day and when I brought it home, my 3 year old son said, "Daddy's got a lightning McQueen!".

I was going to get blue before then but junior swung the red for me!

Steve

I was tempted by a 6 MPS. I lost my bottle though because I've had 3 diesel octavias on the trot (inc current vRS) and I reckon the MPG would have scared the bejesus out of me :D It's the only car that I sometimes catch myself thinking "hmmm, what would it have been like to have all that power right now....?"

Dave.

I know how you feel Dave.

BUT, your Race Blue Octy is great. We have a lovely guy called Norman painting our house at the moment. He drives a BMW (which looks good) however his future son in law has the Race Blue vRS and he loves it. Looked at some pics of it today and that had me thinking, I should have had more courage and considered red or gone with the blue instead of black. On my way towork I thought I might me a bit more excited about tomorrow if I was getting blue as I am swapping one black car for another. Incidentally, apparently two of his work colleagueshave bought vRS'as a result of seeing his.

I am looking forward to getting my black vRS and I suppose it's only natural to look at other cars and colours and think perhaps I should have done that, however I know the black will look great too.

Just a pity I've got to run it in and I can't get my foot down. Keep and eye out for me on yer travels round the Wirral. Will have the Briskoda sticker out and proud!

M

I'll keep an eye out for you :) The vRS looks great in all colours anyway!

Dave.

Afternoon all

just picked up my new l&K estate today after complaining to Skoda UK as i had been waiting 14 weeks and the salesman whom i have got to know really weel as i amarranging his mortgage for him gave me the nod that VW and Skoda were in some kind of dispute and were been awkward releasing new cars,he told me to call Skoda UK and complain saying'i will be cancelling my order and expecting a full deposit refund if my car isnt here in 1 week@ which i did,Skoda rang me and said car would be at dealers in a few days, and guesswhat it was so maybe this has something to do with the delay ?

No complaining required; dealer gets my car tomorrow morning and I take delivery Thursday afternoon.

By the end of the month; as promised. Well chuffed.

Nice one!

Bet your getting excited, having to run it in spoils the fun......only for a little while though. :D
