On the fuel cap of my chiped 1.8t say: 95RON/ROZ

At Shell:

V Racing +99

V Power (I was told that this has octane# 98)

and

Unleaded 95 Euro 3

Please tell me how these affect performance and reliability.

Robert

Higher octane, better performance. Don't know about reliability though...

Apparently RS will make it's full standard output of 180bhp on 98RON (or was that 97RON?).

However it can run on 95RON, normal unleaded, fuel just that it doesn't put out as much power.

I guess 98RON there is no problem with, as long as the fuel is consistant, as that's what the ECU was programmed to use.

95RON can be used but I don't know what the long term affects would be....I guess not good.

I'm sure one of the Wise Sages will give a definative answer soon. ;)
