Service Indicator

Featured Replies

Just had the letter in from the stealers regarding my next service. This is the first service i shall be giving the car as iv only had it since June 2006.(2003 octy vRS) Now I was told by the dealers that it was on fixed yearly services. Fair enough. I have dug out the service schedule and MOT cert to get the exact date the MOT was due on.

The services so far have been done on a yearly basis although the car has only done , on average, 6k a year. ( I have done 4k in the last 10 months ).

the stamp for the last service now states , instead of a mileage or date for the next service- "As per indicated"

Is my car now on variable? Is there another way to check this?

cheers

You can't go from fixed to variable, so you'll still be on fixed.

You can go from fixed to variable providing the correct oil is used and the dash insert is programmed accordingly.

So its a case of finding out from the dealers if the correct oil is being used? and the dash has been reprogrammed?

Great, as they seem to think its still on fixed although its their writing in the book saying "as per indicator".

You can run fixed using variable oil, so if its coming up to its year service and you want it on fixed anyhow take it in. Have an annual service done and make sure its set up for fixed.
