As of today my laptop has developed a new and even more annoying habit.

Certain Brisky threads it won't let me look at. Seems random, but about every other thread it goes slows, makes a grinding noise and says that there has been an error and it wants to send an error report. For instance this thread about 'Look what the gypos got hold of' in the fabia forum and Tavia's thread about male and females.

So, what are these error reports and do you send them? Some how I have a mental image of an email to Mr William Gates in Microsoft central - is this the case?

At the moment the computer is so utterly saddamized I think it is sending an error report from sending an error report.

Can't help with why your laptop is playing up but this might amuse you:

have never sent one.. Billy boy Gates only wants to collate info

*runs and hides , puts silver foil hat back on *

I send them, but I don't know if they're any use or not. I don't get them that often.

I can't view anything on utube at the moment because my pop up blocker stops me from downloading the new flash thingamy...

Need new computer!!

They are well worth sending at times, sometimes you get information back on the cause of the problem, shocked me the first time it happened and the report back told me to change the version of Raid driver I was running to a certain version number, and suddenly the problem was solved :D.

They check the error reports against a database of known problems, if your problem is known they tell you exactly how to fix it. Actually a usefull feature.

:iagree:

i actually got an email from microsoft with a link to a patch for messanger to fix a error that i had.:)

i suppose that is one advantage of having a 'proper' registered verion of vista:rolleyes:

i always send them for servers.... my laptop ones always give me an instance responce as well

I send them too, they only take a couple of seconds so why not. Plus ensures that the bug gets a fix found for it if plenty of info is aquired, rather than me cursing everytime something goes wrong
