hi, i have just bought a vrs on a 51 plate and my service light comes on when i start the car does any one now how to turn it off as i have just serviced it my self ?

You can either go to a garage and let them hook it up to the computer, or try to find someone local to you with a copy of VAG-COM. Should take no longer than 2 minutes

According to the owners manual it is possible to do it by;

1. Switch off the ignition and press the reset kn0b of the trip counter below the speedometer and hold.

2. Switch on the ignition and release the reset kn0b. The message 'service' or 'service now' appears in the display.

3. Turn the kn0b for setting the clock to the right until the message is reset.
