Hi,

First post here so please be gentle.

I have a 52 plate Octavia. When i tried to start the car yesterday it wouldn't. All of the usual lights come on and everything seems ok but it doesn't start, doesn't even seem to want to start turning over. Tried jumping it but didn't make any difference.

I'm thinking it could be a problem with the immobiliser.

If anyone has had a similar problem or can suggest what the problem could be i would be most grateful.

Is the car still in a non drivable state ?

Welcome to Briskoda, Sorry your having problems

yeah, doesn't even start.

I had this, all the lights were on as normal etc etc, just wouldn't turn over. In the end it was the battery. Jump started it, and it was fine. Threw my alarm out, and I had to get somone to reset it for me, as jumping it had caused a spike. I have an aux keypad, which let me by pass the alarm to get the car going to the garage for the reset. This is a sigma alarm, which i'm guessing is aftermarket.

Thanks for that.

I did try and jump it but i'm not sure if my jump cables are in working order so i'm going to try a new set.
