karting tips

Featured Replies

anyone got any?

going to daytona milton keynes on saturday for one of their 90 minute races, been a few times and its always rained (mmmmmm, oversteer). was wondering if anyone has some tips on driving techniques to help me go faster. my lap times are always somewhere near competitive but just want those extra few tenths!

managed to get on the podium last time (in the wet) behind some people who obviously go every weekend so was quite chuffed just want to squeeze a bit more out of it this time.

my main problem is finding the best way into the corners, i always seem to have lots of oversteer on the way in and end up bogging down mid corner, i know i'm doing something wrong but can't work out what!

any thoughts?

Smoothness is the key as well as making sure you keep the kart balanced going round the corner with a smooth transition between braking and applying the power to avoid upsetting the kart into oversteer :D

Most karts are 10 inches wider at the back, so becareful when clipping corners..

Always lean as far as possible into the corner..

Knock your head down on the straights....

;)

And lose the lard - by losing a couple of kilos yourself the power/weight ratio goes up more than you'd think

Go for a really big poo before the race :D

Slow in quick out , to be honest you can do anything you like to the arrive and drive karts (4 stroke) and you will never get them un-settled, you need to go to the 2 stroke 33hp rotax's to get that sort of fun :D

SEE SIG lol
