basically a 5litre can of Cuprinol Timber Treatment Autumn Red burst open all over the boot of G's car. my god what a mess. any ideas how to get the staining off? :(

Recarpet it? Sounds like a real mess to me which you may be able to remove with an industrial carpet cleaner of some sort, but cost-wise may not be do-able...

I agree with Quinten. Depends how fussed she is. No carpet cleaner will completely remove wood stain and you would have to hire a professional steam cleaner as well to even try and get it out. No choice, re carpet it would probably be cheaper anyway.

Good luck.

 Sorry to hear that mate. Now you're talking

I'd also try an independent re-trimmer (the likes of Seat Surgeons, etc), as they may be more cost-effective for the re-trim than an OEM part from VW.

I'm guessing it's very ORANGE! then.....

Shouldn't be so bad as it was a few years ago as they don't make these things with an oil/petrochemical base anymore. They seem acrylic or plasticy to me.

First off I'd remove anything not stapled down and hose it down, then try carpet cleaner etc or soak it in the bath.

What's it say on the tin for washing up and removing it from clothing etc?

J.

Stain the rest of the car, then it wont show

ONLY JOKING

Try a scrappy for s/hand, should be about 1/3rd of new cost

I'd second a breakers yard too.

What VW has she got?
