not sure what type of favorit

Featured Replies

i have just bought a skoda favorit but i am not sure whether it is a favorit LS estate or a 136 LS. how do i tell the difference?

Look for the engine code stamped on the engine block, its on the side of the block near the dizzy, it will either be 135 or 136 the 135 is the low compression version the 136 the high compression version, other than that the two are virtually identical.

By the way the older carb favorits are getting rare now days, not driven the estate version of the carbd favorit.

thanks for your help! looking in the owners manual, based on chassis number it is a 135 hatch, so will be calling insurance people in morning to change car details as seller told me it was estate. not a good start for my first car!

Errr, the estate has a big overhang, and a "double" parcel shelf.

Maybe some pics would help!

yep def get in touch with insurance as seller was WRONG! oh well hopefully won't cost me too much more! on the up side it could cost me less!

Shouldnt cost any more certainly not much more.

The hatchbacks are great fun to drive shame its a 135 not a 136 you can feel the difference, the favorits have a fair bit of body roll but superb balance and feel, and once you get used to the body roll you can really make them fly. Might not be of interest to you but these little cars with the same basic engine and same carb were able to win the world 2 litre cup despite giving away massive hp and 700cc's :D. It wasnt a one off result either they were top 3 rankings 3 years in a row with the little favorit.

The Favorit was a cracking rally car - no one gives it enough credit.
