Will certainly be interesting following the fortunes of Kia, especially in the short term.

They have a Factory in East Euroland somewhere and it only been open a few months and its broken production records..............their build q is outstanding as well.

Yes, the New Skoda!

Mike, I'd recommend the remap!

If the car owes you nothing, has done low miles which it has, Id keep it.

That Kia is fairly quick ;)

Money for Money The new V.R.S is the best looking! But and only but are you willing to spend

Why dont you wait for the New scirocco nice "wow"

I was wondering what other cars folk had looked at / considered before going for the vRS TDi estate.

My search included the following:

Audi A4 170TDi S-Line Avant - Very well finished especially inside, great handling balance (not as harsh as the vRS) but the boot was a joke, it's tiny.

Passat 140TDi Sport estate - Too heavy, interior rattles, interior styling not in same ball park as the lovely exterior estate styling IMO.

Mondeo - about to be replaced and no 2 litre TDI with decent power.

Saab estate 150TDi - Don't like exterior styling, and have you experienced the turbo lag on this 150bhp diesel? It's terrible even above 2,000rpm.

Alfa 159 sportwagen 150TDi - Boot tiny, styling great, engine as above. The 2.4 diesel goes like a rocket though, clunk on to the boot of an Impreza accelerating up to speed at Millbrook....

BMW 3 series - Interior is horrid and the estate was tiny.

So the vRS had it, lots of folk can't understand why I was even comparing the vRS with the A4. It's such an excellent all round economical, quick family estate.

Roll on next week when I take delivery :-)

So how do's the petrol and diesel vrs compere? Well the cars I have looked at are VRS, GTI, A3 quattro 140pd the gttdi 4motion, cupra r leon cleo sport ,but I only want to get a V.A.G car A3 2.0t quattro? But value for money is the .V R.S for me but how much money will I waste and thats the only thing stoping me geting any car

I've driven the petrol vRS both full on around Millbrook and on road with wife and kids, and diesel vRS on road but on my own when the roads were empty......

The petrol is ultimately the quicker car, but only once you wind it past 4,000rpm, below 4,000rpm the diesel leaves it for dead. The economy of the diesel is much better as well. One area where the petrol is better is refinement of course, its a smooth engine. There was some exhaust boom on the petrol estate with nothing in the boot and the boot cover open, but didn't notice this on the hatch that I thrashed around Millbrook.
