uneven wear on rear tyres

Featured Replies

tyre wear on my rear tyres varies from 5mm on inside tread to 2mm on outside tread ( both tyres) I am driving a 05 plate octy 2 elegance 1.9tdi DSG Front tyres are wearing evenly at 4mm Tyre pressures are 32psi front and 30psi rear . mileage 20500. There is usually only my wife with me , empty boot and rarely rear seat passengers (Billy no mates) .I also drive like a flat cap pensioner due to a nervous wife. I saw on a previous thread a problem with wear on the inside tread where Skoda have a TSB recommending a change of camber values . Would this be the cause of my problem ,the car still has a years warranty left. Comments please. PS The tyres are the original fitted Bridgestone 205/55 R16 on alloy wheels.

Hi,

Exactly the same problem on mine (octy II sport 2.0 TDI). Both outer rears are on the wear bars, centre of tyres have 3mm, insides slightly more.

I'm on the factory dunlop sport 01As, and this is after 18k motorway miles. 17" tyres ain't cheap either.

Fronts are wearing totally evenly.

I've seen mention of shims to adjust rear camber, anyone here have experience of this?

cheers

Pete
