Couple of what I hope are minor issues here..

1) when my Fabia (1.9TDI) was hooked up to diagnostics during its service, the 'overboost pressure sensor' is out of range - does anyone know where this is, what it costs to replace etc?

2) possibly related - the engine seems to keep on flicking into 'limp home mode' with consequent loss of power and most often does this when accelerating past about 2700rpm in 4th -any other ideas?

3)the diagnostics also flagged up the air con recirculation flap motor as being faulty -no rush for this, but again, where and how much to fix?

yes, nothing conclusive though.

Depending on the actual code it sounds like it could be a dodgy MAP sensor (boost pressure sensor) or sticking VNT blades in the turbo.. the first one will cost £30 to fix.. if its the turbo itll either be just a good spray with WD40 or a new turbo (not cheap)

edit: a couple of codes ive had in the past:

1 Fault Found:

17964 - Charge Pressure Control: Negative Deviation

P1556 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

this is classic sticking VNT vanes... engine would not hit boost till 2.5k then come on full pelt... only did it in the mornings tho..

Positive deviation is overboosting...

ive also had this one:

18000 - Altitude sensor / Boost pressure sensor: implausable correlation

this was what happened when my MAP sensor went faulty, just means that at idle the mesurement from the altitude sensor in the ecu (always 1 bar) and the pressure in the intercooler were totally different - replaced MAP and all was well

the recirc flap is a common problem.. very fiddley to fix :(

I can confirm this.... i cane my car all the time now.. and its been fine

we have 17964 - overboost pressure adjustment, sensor out of MIN range

1271 - temperature regulator flap motor-V68

1595 recriculation/fresh air blower motor position V154.

sounds as though i need new sensor?

MAP - Mass airflow pressure?
