Auto-lock now standard on the 2007 Octavia?

Featured Replies

New Octavia elegance will be picked up tomorrow.

Is it true that the auto-lock has been standard for a few months now, or is this still a feature which has to be requested at the dealership? Or is this what they mean when they refer to it as Central locking, SAFE system?

Thanks.

I think you mean what is commonly termed as Anti Hijack.

If you have MaxiDot then IIRC it's an option in that, if not the dealer or somone with VAG-COM can change it.

I asked the dealer to activate it on the new car but I don't know whether it was already activated at the factory. I also asked for one zap on the key to unlock all doors. Similarly global window opening/closing is now available on the remote, not just on the key.

I assume you mean press and hold to get windows to go up/down, it was also available on my 2001 Mk1 vRS and 2006 Mk2 vRS

Thanks again Stu.

Yes, I've got maxidot comming. I'll ask the dealer tomorrow.

Ive got a 2007 MY Octavia with maxidot and i can confirm that you can enable Anti-Hijack and you can also set the doors to open all at once or just drivers side. You just go into setup into convenience and into door open and its all in there:thumbup:

Excellent. Well anti-hijack is enabled, so I'll fiddle with the cars computer to enable the single door open.

Also, does anyone else have the 3.5 jack socket in the jumbo box? I thought that wasn't around for another few months on new builds.

You want to watch it with that anti-hijack thing; I got out the other day to refill the tank, left the keys in, and the bl**dy thing went and locked itself on me! It was only thanks to the kids that I could get back in again!

NEVER leave your car keys in the ignition at a petrol station. Au revoir car and insurance.

Happened to a friend of mine!

Picked up my 2007 elegance on march 1st, and it came with the 3.5 jack socket.

What you say about the auto lock, do you mean does the car lock itself, then yes, the car will lock itself if the doors are not opened, (but not the boot- beware!) for 20 seconds or more. This has been a standard feature on all my Octavias (thats 7 in total:eek: ), ambientes/elegances since 2001.

By autolock, I actually meant anti-hijack.

It's been available since approximately June 2006...
