Which A pillar gauge pod and gauges?

Featured Replies

I'd like to fit 2-3 ancillary gauges in my Octavia and was after recommendations for an A pillar pod and gauges that look as OEM as possible, albeit with VW blue illumination. DIN mounted is no good as I have a double DIN stereo. I also considered a custom mount where the ash tray is but I'm thinking of installing heated seat controllers there.

Eddy - you've changed to VW blue I think?

These from the States look great;

AWE Tuning - Products

Don't know if they're compatible or not....

If you find a fitting A-pillar pod, then please let us know... How can they make one for the Leon, but not for the Octy is a mystery :(

They look pretty good. Shame the boost gauge doesn't go high enough and they don't seem to do an oil temp gauge. I had VDO in my golf and was pretty happy with them. It's getting the right pod which is my main concern.

Show off.

What about fabricating something to replace the centre air vents? There will be enough space for three gauges there, and you could still leave an open bit on top so the airflow isn't totally restricted. I was looking at this myself last night (whilst in the car waiting to pick the missus up). Some vacumed formed plastic and flat plastic sheets, I'm sure someone on here has a vacum former? You could even angle it slightly towards the driver (recessed slightly on the right) to give a more OE feel, and so long as the colours matched ok it would be alot less obvious than the A pillar mounts. Obviously you'd have to move the indicator relay slightly, but I doubt that would be an issue.

Even a K03s can get close to the end of that gauge. I'd just be at the end on the current map but once boost is upped further it'd be off the scale. Needs to be at least 30psi really like the VDO gauge.

There was a company in Doncaster that did the 3 A pillar pod

Iceman had some fitted at JBS

I know the fitting took ages to do , but it did look quite good

Either that or have a look in his posts , as I know he posted some pics
