Tyres 225/45 17 Research result

Featured Replies

I know all of us that drive on 225/45-17 have complaints of excessive road noise and tyre wear. I've done long research and came up with some very interesting results. The results don't include highly expensive tyres.

Many of us got the Octy from new on Bridgestone Turanza ER30 or ER300, or Dunlop SP Sport.

So, I'll begin with tyres I have (I complaint of excessive road noise):

My election would be Falken FK-452

Worth including Goodyear F1-GSD3s and Toyo Proxes T1-Rs?

You have to be careful as the scoring system you have posted bears a remarkable resemblence to those that are shown on TyreTest.com.

ER300s got the best roadholding, both dry and wet, scores in the German ADAC tests just published, and wear was about average; having said that, the tests were for 205/55 R16s, though.

Yeah, I forgot to tell that that I took it from Pneus para carros, 4x4's e vans a preços and as I could see they use TyreTest.com

I've edited the post and put it on the end. Thank's for calling my attention.

Id go for Falken 452s if money tight had em on BMW 528 couldnt fault em,GSD3 also top buy.

My choice would be the same because of the price. I can still run on my Dunlop's for about one year but then I have to change. Tell me please, were you satisfied with them, is the result presented here real? Do you agree?

Thanks

I ran Toyo Proxes T1-R's(225/45/17) on my Mk1 vRS loved them, this time round I decided to give the Falken 452's a try as I could get them a lot cheaper. The only thing I have noticed is that the Falkens dont seem to be quite as grippy in the wet, however unless you push the limits constantly I suspect you probably wouldnt notice.

Taken from TyreTest.com

Toyo PROXES T1-R (Average of 176 completed tests):

Score: (1-best 6-worst)

I'm not quite sure I see how the overall average score works.

Comparing Michelin Primacys with Pirelli Pzeros, the Pirellis score better (lower) marks in every category, but Michelin has ha better overall score

Also i know for a fact that the PE2 are a lot lot quieter than the contis which receive a similar noise score.
