Fabia vRS or Octavia VRS?

Featured Replies

Hello all!

I can't decide which to buy!?

I really like the Occy for the look and the standard equipment like Climate control, leather etc etc but I'm also drawn to the Fabia for the engine, 1.9 TDi which you can chip to 180bhp I believe plus it's a diesel so the mpg and tax will be better on the pocket.

I've previously owned a VW Polo and looking at piccys the inside of the Fabia it doesn't look dissimilar to this.

I'm gonna get myself down to Lightcliffe Skoda and have a look at them both up close but wondered what you guys thought.

Depends wether you want a small car or a big car, cheap or expensive running costs..................

as Pat said, your costs are a consideration... if you can stretch to it, an octy II vRS deisel maybe?

Two completely different cars. What Octavia are you looking at MK1 or MKII?

The Fabia is built on the Polo floor pan so yes it is very similar.

Looking to spend a max of 11k so it'd have to be a Mk I Octavia.

Would the front seats from the Octavia fit into a Fabia?

I must say I'm leaning towards the Fabia for the engine. Had a look at some of the pics of the Fabia in the forum and they look nice with the 17" Octavia wheels!

Not fussed about the size of the car really.

Will/have prices of Fabia's come down with the advent of the new model next month?

Get a test drive in both the Fabia and the Octavia - the are both good cars

but the are totally different to drive and own. I and a few other know because

we have/had both.

I think the price of the Fabia vRS will remain strong for a fair few months yet. Nothing to replace it.

Fabia Vrs much more fun dose what it says on the box

Hi

I have just got a Fabia VRS with cruse and all the mod cons, it runs on a whiff of a diesel rag (55 mpg at 80-90 on cruse). I tried the octavia from the dealer but decided that I did not need the space, as the fabia is smaller it feels more responsive, and they are so easy to drive, and good fun. Any way I hope what ever you get, you get one soon, or you will be missing out!

Cheers

Nope.

And Stu, the polo is built on the Fabia floorpan ;)

I was going to say that the Fabia had it first but I wanted to keep it simple and not start another debate on VW vs Skoda ;)
