Anyone out there had this problem on their Octavia VRS?

Temp gauge shooting up to red pull over and within a couple of minutes its back to normal also this goes with a loss in power. Its gone to the dealer this evening so I will keep you posted folks.

On mine it was the main fan unit (there are 2 a big one and the little one) combined with a faulty temp sender. Only got it when driven very very hard.

not aimed at you mate just my mood at the moment no car and having to deal with dealerships that cant be bothered once they have your cash.

Should have tried my dealer, had a problem a couple of weeks ago with the bonnet opening mechanism on a saturday morning. Turned up unanounced and drove away 1/2 hr later problem fixed.

Got the car back the Water Pump was the problem.

Not good though my car has only done 17500 miles.

Hope its just one of those things as it would have been very costly if the car had been out of warranty.

I thought I read somewhere that there is issues with the impellars (sorry if spelt wrong) on these. My cousin has a 1.4 TDi Polo and his went, the shaft came unstuck.

Sparkey at least it was sorted in the end and now you can drive around without worrying when the temp will go skywards again.

just as a closing thought, whats the normal operating temp people are having ??
